FRIM to organise 2018 FRIM DG Cup Bowling Tournament

12 September 2018 (Wednesday) – Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) will organise 2018 FRIM Director General Bowling Tournament on 6–7 October (Saturday and Sunday) at Ampang Superbowl Bangi Gateway, Bandar Baru Bangi.

The tournament is organised by FRIM Club in appreciation of the FRIM Director General (DG) Dato’ Dr Abd Latif Mohmod’s contribution in driving FRIM to become a leading forest research and development institution in the region. This year, FRIM also celebrates the 10th anniversary of his appointment as DG; FRIM’s 33rd anniversary of FRIM and also Abd Latif’s 33rd years of service to FRIM.

Under his leadership, FRIM has garnered many awards including over 33 Malaysia Book of Records, Mahathir Science Award, the BrandLaureate Award, National Book Award, Merdeka Award and the recognition of FRIM as a Natural Heritage Site and National Heritage.

It is expected that as many as 100 teams (two persons per team) will join the tournament which offers over RM 13,600 in prizes with the overall champion taking home RM 5,000. The list off prizes for winners is as follows:

Representatives of government and private agencies as well as members of the public, especially those working with FRIM, are encouraged to participate in the tournament. Apart from promoting good health, this competition may also see the emergence of new talents among amateur players.
