FRIM celebrates staff’s achievements online
15 June 2020 (Monday) – Although unable to organise an award ceremony, Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) still demonstrated its appreciation towards staff for their outstanding contributions and achievements in 2019 through emails. The lists of award recipients were unveiled in stages by the FRIM Human Resources Division via email since 21 May.
A total of 206 FRIM staff received excellence awards in 15 different categories based not only on their commitment to work, but also on their involvement in social activities, sports and team spirit.

Dr Ang Lai Hoe was picked as the FRIM Best Scientist while the Best Research Award went to ‘DNA profiling and barcoding systems of Malaysian plant species for enforcement and product authentication’ research group led by Dr Lee Soon Leong. Mohd Zamshari Abd. Rahman and Norhayati Nordin received the Director General (DG) Awards respectively.
Dr Mohamad Nasir Mat Arip received the Best Employee Award for the management and professional group; while Sadali Sahat and Suzanaakma Mansor for the implementer group 1 and 2 respectively.
“I would like to congratulate all the award recipients for their achievements and hope that the awards received would inspire them to maintain work performance and produce the best possible outputs,” said FRIM DG Datuk Dr Abd Latif Mohmod.
A total of 13 retirees will also receive awards and appreciation certificates for their long and faithful service.
