FRIM DG receives appreciation from MTIB
18 June 2020 (Thursday) – Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) Director General (DG) Datuk Dr Abd Latif Mohmod received a special gift in the form of a laser engraved portrait of himself from the Malaysian Timber Industry Board (MTIB) DG Mohd Kheiruddin Mohd Rani as a token of appreciation for his services and contributions. The gift was presented during the MTIB Audit Committee meeting chaired by Abd Latif, this morning.
Abd Latif has been a member and the chairman of the committee since 2008. The meeting this morning was his last as he will retire at the end of August.

FRIM and MTIB have been collaborating on research, development and commercialisation programmes in strengthening the country’s management and development of the timber industry.
“His services and invaluable contributions during his tenure as the chairman and a member of the MTIB Audit Committee in 2008-2020 are much appreciated. He introduced the concept of ‘Self-Auditing’ or better known as the Audit and Control Self-Assessment (ACSA) to the Internal Audit Unit, which is currently being practised in MTIB Region/State offices, among others.
“He is also well-liked by all in the committee and always gives views and suggestions for improvement. He is approachable by all levels at MTIB. In this regard, MTIB would like to express our sincere appreciation for his contributions and wish him success in all his future endeavours,” said MTIB Internal Audit Unit Head Norzila Amir Rudin.
