FRIM gets best agency award for disaster recovery

4 August 2017 (Friday) – Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) has received the Best Agency award for the Disaster Recovery Centre (DRC) service in the Government Data Centre 2 (GDC-2) Project.

This certificate was presented by Dr Suhazimah Dzazali, Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU) Deputy Director General to Maizura Ishak who represented the FRIM Disaster Recovery Team (DRT) at the GDC-2 Project Closing Session held in Putrajaya on 1 August 2017.

A total of 50 agencies including FRIM received the Data Centre (DC) and DRC services through the GDC-2 Project implemented by the Malaysian Government since 2012 to 2017.

At the event, 44 agencies received the DRC certificates. Radio Televisyen

Malaysia (RTM) was awarded the Best Agency for DC services under this project.

As the Best Agency for DRC service, FRIM was invited to share its experience in activating the DRC.

FRIM has implemented its Service Continuity Plan (PKP) simulation exercise involving all its staff on 27 July and its Disaster Recovery Team successfully fulfilled the criteria by activating all the critical applications within four hours and 16 minutes, well under the six-hour requirement.
