FRIM gets two more MBR recognitions

12 December 2018 (Wednesday) – Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) has received two more Malaysia Book of Records (MBR) certificates this morning.

This time, the certificates were for FRIM as the ‘First Forest Research Institute in Malaysia’ and for the FRIM Director General (DG), Dato’ Dr Abd Latif Mohmod as the ‘First Forest Researcher appointed as Chairman of the Association of Asia-Pacific Forest Institutions (APAFRI) for a third time’.

The certificates were presented by Mohamad Alex Edward, MBR Deputy General Manager to the FRIM DG at the presentation ceremony held at the MBR Headquarters, Kuala Lumpur Sentral.

With this, FRIM now holds a total of 37 MBR certificates, of which six are the FRIM DG’s individual records. The pursuit of MBR recognition is one of the efforts towards enhancing knowledge and public awareness on the importance of FRIM as a research institute as well as highlighting its uniqueness and attractions.

Abd Latif expressed hope that these achievements will help to motivate others to continue ensuring that FRIM remains strong, respected and relevant at all times.
