FRIM hosts MAKSAK Orienteering Challenge
7 August 2018 (Tuesday) – Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) had hosted Orienteering Challenge of the Malaysian Civil Service Sports and Welfare Council (MAKSAK Malaysia) at the FRIM campus, Kepong on 4 August.
This year, MAKSAK of Federal Territory (MAKSWIP) was appointed to organise the challenge and FRIM was chosen as the event site.

The award presentation ceremony was officiated by FRIM Deputy Director General (Operations) Dr Khali Aziz Hamzah. Also present, MAKSAK Malaysia General Secretary Radin Hedly Shah Radin Mohamad Hambali and Public Service Department Service Management Division Director Abdul Halim Hamzah, also the MAKSWIP Honorary Treasurer.
Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) emerged as the champion, while MAKSWIP, MAKSAK Perak and Malaysian Prison Department took the second, third and fourth placings. This event was also participated by teams from Malaysian Armed Forces, Johor, Selangor, Melaka, Perlis and Sabah.
Several FRIM staff were also selected to represent MAKSWIP and Zaridah Mohd Zaki acted as the team manager. Among the achievements of FRIM athletes in the individual categories were:
- Mohammad Khair Mohd Ayob took the sixth place in the Men’s Open category;
- Baharudin Kamaruddin and Dr Rushdan Ibrahim (second and fourth– Men’s Veteran);
- Nur Wahida Tajudin and Siti Nur Aisyah Mohd Hashim (first and third – Women’s Open); and
- Suhaida Mustafa (second– Women’s Veteran).
