FRIM launches ‘FRIM Go Biodegradable’ campaign

4 February 2019 (Monday) – Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) has launched the ‘FRIM Go Biodegradable’ campaign this morning to raise awareness on environmental conservation, reducing the use of plastic, polystyrene and plastic straw which is harmful to the environment.

The campaign was launched by FRIM Director General (DG) Dato’ Dr Abd Latif Mohmod at the FRIM Monthly Assembly held at Dataran FRIM. Also present were FRIM Deputy DG (Operations) Dr Khali Aziz Hamzah, top management officials and staff.

“Please carry out duties with full responsibility, honesty and trust as well as do not neglect your duties for personal interest. I hope FRIM will continue to remain relevant and successful in generating more impactful research and development (R&D) in forestry for the country,” said Abd Latif in his New Year’s Message.

Abd Latif also announced the appointment of Dr Ismail Parlan as the new FRIM Forestry and Environment Director, Mohd Asmawee Ismail as the Human Resource Director and Dr Wan Mohd Shukri Wan Ahmad as the Natural Forest Programme Head.

In conjunction with this, FRIM staff also took the pledge to perform their duties with integrity.
