FRIM offers ‘Forest Skywalk @ Night’ package

1 September 2022 (Thursday) Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) will offer ‘Forest Skywalk @ Night’ package to visitors starting 2 September 2022.

Through this package, visitors can enjoy the night view of Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya including the various landmarks such as Petronas Twin Towers, KL Tower, Merdeka 118 Tower and The Exchange 106.

FRIM Director General (DG) Dr Ismail Parlan launched the package at the Kepong Botanic Gardens on 30 August. Also present, Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) Infrastructure Development Division Under Secretary Mohd Khairul Kassim, FRIM Deputy DG (Research) Dr Norwati Muhammad and FRIM Deputy DG (Operations) Dr Noor Azlin Yahya.

Besides being famous as a research institution in the field of forestry, FRIM is also a very popular ecotourism destination in the Klang Valley, especially among visitors interested in recreational activities, environmental education, leisure activities such as jogging, exercising and picnicking in the forest ambience.

Forest Skywalk is one of the newest ecotourism products that FRIM has to offer. The construction of the skywalk was funded by MOTAC.

Since its opening in 2020, the Forest Skywalk has received a total of 35,078 visitors. FRIM took another proactive measure to introduce the Forest Skywalk @ Night programme to offer visitors a different experience.

Participants of the Forest Skywalk @ Night can experience walking through the nature trail led by nature guides as well as enjoy the night on the skywalk. Visitors will have the opportunity to see, hear, feel and experience a different atmosphere.

FRIM only offers three slots of Forest Skywalk @ Night (at 8:30pm, 9:00pm and 9:30pm) on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Reservation must be made with FRIM’s Visitor Information Centre (VIC) via email: frim_enquiry@frim.gov.my.
