FRIM receives Selangor tourism appreciation award
19 November 2013 (Tuesday) – Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) has received an Appreciation Award from the Selangor Government and Tourism Malaysia Selangor for its contribution to the state’s eco-tourism industry.

The Selangor Tourism Appreciation 2013 Ceremony held in Subang Jaya on 15 November was officiated by the Selangor Menteri Besar, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim. Khalid presented the trophy and certificate to FRIM Corporate Management Head, Norhayati Nordin, who represented the Institute.
FRIM was one of the five eco-tourism sites in the state selected to receive the award. The others were Pulau Ketam in Klang, Taman Botani Negara in Shah Alam, Kalumpang Resort Training Center in Hulu Selangor and Hutan Lipur (Gunung Nuang ) in Hulu Langat under the Selangor Forestry Department.

Also present at the ceremony was YB Elizabeth Wong who is the Chairman of the Standing Committee for Tourism, Consumer Affairs and Environment.
The aim of this annual event was to develop, promote and highlight the advantages and specialty of the state’s tourism products; as well as to show appreciation to the state’s tourism entrepreneurs, operators and industry players.
