The purpose of this e-Participation policy is to initiate a culture and practice of e-participation to enhance transparency and public involvement in improving the quality of services at the Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM). FRIM consistently acknowledges public engagement to enable the Ministry to explore broader perspectives, information sources, and potential solutions to enhance decisions and services. It also provides the foundation for productive relationships, dialogue, better discussions, and effective governance.

The objective of e-Participation is to involve citizens in development policies and decision-making processes through the use of information and communication technology. Among the communication channels used are online surveys, feedback inquiries, polls, emails, and FRIM’s social media.

Therefore, participation is highly encouraged while complying with the participation terms and conditions as outlined below:

1. Any statements touching on sensitivity towards race, religion, and politics are strictly prohibited.
2. Avoid demeaning, personal attacks, or statements that may offend other participants’ sentiments.
3. Control your statements, refrain from using harsh or offensive language.
4. Discouraged from chatting or sending off-topic sentences.
5. Topics and links to ADULT websites are strictly PROHIBITED.
6. Ensure your statements/topics do not violate COPYRIGHT LAW, TRADEMARK, PATENT, or any other regulations.
7. PROHIBITED from using the e-Participation for conducting contests, pyramid schemes, get-rich-quick schemes, internet money schemes, chain letters, junk emails, either commercially or otherwise.
8. Uploading files containing computer viruses like “Trojan Horses,” “worms,” “time bombs,” “cancel boots,” or any software or programs that may damage the operation of another user’s computer is not allowed.
9. The administrators of the e-Participation do not endorse, support, represent, or guarantee the truthfulness, accuracy, or reliability of any statements/topics made in this space. Individuals should understand that any risks associated with the reliability of any material in this space are borne by the individuals themselves.
10. The administrators of the e-Participation reserve the right to edit and delete any statements/topics at any time without informing the authors of those statements/topics.
11. The administrators of the e-Participation reserve the right to amend the e-Participation Policy and Guidelines at any time without any announcement/notice.
12. By participating or making statements in this e-Participation, you are bound by the terms and conditions of the e-Participation Guidelines.
