1.                  GC-MS Analysis

Gas chromatography – mass spectrometry (GC-MS) is used to analyse and determine the essential oil component/s and molecular weight/s of isolated compound/s from the natural products.

2.                  GC Analysis 

Gas chromatography (GC) is used to analyse volatile chemical component/s from aromatic medicinal plants.

3.                  Extraction/Distillation

Aromatic medicinal plant samples are distilled using ‘clavenger’ apparatus  to obtain essential oils. 

4.                  Moisture Content

The moisture contents of aromatic plant samples are determined by the azeotropic method with toluene solvent.

5.                  Physico-chemical Properties

Specific gravity and refractive index are 2 major characters used to determine the quality of essential oils.
